Forthcoming Events

GECAG generally holds two or three workshops or demonstrations each year and occasional fundraising events. Please find below the program of Paint-outs which are available for all to participate in free of charge. Please see below for details of the paint-outs and upcoming workshops.

Paint Out Program

The GECAG Paint-outs take place on the second Saturday of each month. The meeting time is 10.00am and we paint until 12.00. The paint out is often followed by a visit to a local cafĂ©. Participation in the Paint-outs is free. Please register your participation on Trybooking by 6.00pm on the Friday before the scheduled paint-out.

Explore Mixed Media Workshop

with Jen Rodger

Thursday April 9th

10.00am  - 3.00pm

Working with limited palettes, paint & paper.
This workshop is about experimentation, curiosity, and letting go of habits. You will be guided through playful exercises designed to build confidence with colour mixing and composition, while allowing your own style and responses to emerge.
Workshop Suitable for all levels, including beginners and experienced artists wanting to loosen up and refresh their approach.

2 Colour Lino Print  Workshop

with Lisa Murphy

Wednesday 15th April

10.00am - 4.00pm

Learn the techniques and processes involved in creating a 2 colour lino print.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have multiple copies of their 2 colour print to take home.
Previous lino cutting experience is ideal but not essential.
Inks, paper and printing equipment will be supplied. Bring your own lino cutting tools and blocks.

Acrylic Pouring Demonstration  

Nance Silverman

Friday 17th April 

3.30pm - 5.30pm

Nance will demonstrate exploring colour and movement with acrylic pouring technique, using fluid paint instead of a brush. This creates cells and organic patterns by swiping with a palette knife or blowing!
