It also enables you to participate in our Annual Art Exhibition and in the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. FEESClass Fees and Membership FeesOur group has an annual Membership Fee and Class Term Fee. Note - Paying the Membership Fee does not automatically give you access to classes. Some classes have waiting lists so please check with the Class Coordinator by email gecagclass@gmail.com. Membership Fee (payable annually)Adults $60 Class Fees (per term) Refer to individual classes below for the fee for that class. Class Fees - Adult - 9 wk term - two hours - $175 Adult - 9 wk term - two & 1/2 hours - $200 Child - 9 wk term - two hours - $175 Child - 7 we term - 2 hours - $136 Class fees are payable two weeks prior to class commencement each term.

| My watercolour class on a Tuesday morning caters to all skill levels and teaches basic watercolour techniques, colour mixing, values, textures, composition, drawing, using the right brush and advice on the use of materials and equipment. We cover a wide range of subjects, including landscape, seascape and boats, figures, street scenes, still life, animals and interiors. I have been teaching this class for 16 years at GECAG, as of 2021. Suitable for all levels. Materials List | |
 Watercolour and Mixed mediaMaxine Wade Tuesday afternoons 1.00pm – 3.00pm Term 1 2026 - February 2nd - April 3rd (Note - 9th March - Labour Day / 3rd April - Good Friday) Fee: $175 (9 week term) | Using a variety of media, including watercolour paints, inks, coloured pencils (both water soluble and ordinary), graphite and gouache or acrylic paints – a range of subjects will be studied using the appropriate techniques for the relevant medium. This class is a mix of painting and drawing. Mostly working on paper (some specialty ones), a range of brush and drawing techniques will explore the various media, some being small technical studies, and others being larger developed works. Painting and Pastels ClassDanielle Robertson Tuesday Evenings 7.30pm – 9.30pm Term 1, 2026-February 2nd - April 3rd (Note - 9th March - Labour Day / 3rd April - Good Friday) Fee: $175 (9 week term) | This painting class enables you to work in either paints (oils) or pastels. The subject matter may be still life, landscapes, or portraits. Still life setups are available to paint, or you may prefer to work from a photo reference. Everyone works at their own pace. If you have wanted to start painting but have not had a lot of experience, or you are slightly anxious about it, then feel free to come along for a trial class. Pastels and Mixed MediaSandra Marasco Wednesday mornings 10.00 – 12.00pm Term 1, 2026-February 2nd - April 3rd (Note - 9th March - Labour Day / 3rd April - Good Friday) Fee: $175 (9 week term) | In this class, Sandra guides her students as they work on their own individual projects. Children’s Creative Art (10-14 age group)Sandra Marasco Wednesday afternoons 4.30pm-6.30pm Term 1, 2026-February 2nd - April 3rd (Note - 9th March - Labour Day / 3rd April - Good Friday) Fee: $175 (9 week term) | Engaging young artists to make art in a studio environment, Sandra endeavours to unlock their creativity whether it be exploring colour or constructing geometric shapes. Here we learn perseverance and lateral thinking. Children progress at their own pace with individual and personalised instruction to develop the tools needed to gain confidence in their artwork. Expressive mark-making is highly encouraged. Drawing increases visual literacy and the arts have the power to transform the lives of young people. Since 2009, Sandra has provided 1000’s of hand-drawn images and paintings for her young students. Guided by their interests including animation, fashion illustration, landscape and animals. There are no material lists for the Children’s classes as we provide all the materials. |

Acrylics and WatercolourCraig Penny Thursday Mornings 9.30am-11.30am Term 1, 2026-February 2nd - April 3rd (Note - 9th March - Labour Day / 3rd April - Good Friday) Fee: $175 (9-week term) | This class is for all skill levels and participants can work with either acrylic or watercolour. Craig provides students with an image to work from, discussing how to draw it up and ways in which the composition of the photograph can be simplified or improved upon. Subjects include landscapes, seascapes, street scenes and still life. In each class, Craig completes an artwork, demonstrating his approach to the subject from the first marks to the last in either acrylic or watercolour. Students paint along in between each ‘step’ of the work. If a student only works with one medium, Craig provides additional guidance on the days he is demonstrating the other medium. Materials List |

PortraitureMichelle Zuccolo Thursday Evenings 7.00-9.00pm This class will resume in Term 2, 2026 Fee $165 | This course is suitable for all levels and will explore fundamental aspects related to Portraiture. Working directly from models, participants may select to use a range of mediums including pencil, charcoal, acrylic and oil paints. In a step-by-step approach to learning, line, tone and colour application will be introduced and developed. There will be an emphasis on creating a realistic interpretation of the sitter, gaining a further understanding into anatomy, proportions, structure and perspective. Insight will be provided on drawing/painting complicated features such as the eyes, nose, ears and mouth. |
 The Art of Painting Oils and AcrylicsVicki McInnes Friday mornings 10.30am – 12.30pm Term 1, 2026-February 2nd - April 3rd (Note - 9th March - Labour Day / 3rd April - Good Friday) Fee: $175 | I teach in an informal friendly style and move around the group discussing successes and challenges of each student's work. Painting must be enjoyable even though it can also be hard work. I find that painting in a group provides a social connection as well as sharing of ideas and knowledge. You will build the skills and confidence to develop your ideas- drawing and painting at your own pace. Beginners and those with more experience will be guided in the medium of their choice, to find an individual style, and create finished pictures.
